Santa Rosa Academy Hires New Football Coach
Santa Rosa Academy Announces their new football coach, Bob Burt
MENIFEE, CA , MAY 1 – Santa Rosa Academy is excited to announce the hiring of Bob Burt as their new Varsity Football Coach. Santa Rosa Academy will officially begin their first Varsity Football team as part of the newly formed South Valley League with Nuview Bridge Early College High School, California Military Institute, Rancho Christian, Calvary Murrieta, and Temecula Prep. Coach Burt joins Santa Rosa Academy with over 50 years of coaching experience.
“We are very fortunate to have Coach Burt head our staff for our first year of Varsity Football and our student-athletes are excited to have the opportunity to play for one of the most established and well-known coaches in Southern California of the last 50 years.” said Justin Shives, Athletic Director at Santa Rosa Academy. “Part of what makes this addition to our Athletics program so special is that Coach Burt chose us out of a long list of big name programs. His outlook on life and inspiration of the administration and student-athletes are refreshing. He is the perfect person to lead this school into the fire that is high school football.”
Coach Burt began his high school coaching career while still attending Cal State University of Los Angeles. In 1975 Coach Burt began coaching football at the college level, during which he worked at UCLA, Hawaii, Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge. In 1995 he returned to high school coach as the Head Coach for Temescal Canyon High School where he guided the team to the CIF-SS Division VIII title.
