PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT for Healthcare Workers
The Santa Rosa Academy Technology Department, along with a group of local technology professionals, are using 3D printers to create protective (potentially life saving) face shields and mask straps for our local healthcare workers.
Hundreds of 3D printed PPE have already been donated to local hospitals and healthcare workers, on the frontlines, by other local tech professionals. BUT many more are still needed. Three hospitals have requested an additional 7,000 face shields each (21,000 face shields in total) to meet their needs. Hospitals are able to sanitize and reuse these shields multiple times making them a valuable resource for them.
HOW CAN YOU HELP? We’ve set up a donations button below to help purchase materials needed to print these protective devices which include 3D printing filament and transparencies.
COST PER SHIELD: $0.40 each
If there is one thing we can all do to help this cause, other than staying at home, it would be to help our community health workers who put themselves on the front lines each and every day. Any donation amount will help and is greatly appreciated.
We’re in this together. #RangerPride #SRAgives
Thank you, Joshua Myers, at Nanotechops for getting us started in this project. Thank you for providing the great 3D templates and support for the designs.
THANKS TO ALL THAT DONATED. TO DATE WE HAE MADE A DONATION TO RANCHO SPRINGS MEDICAL CENTER AS WELL SRA PARENTS THAT ARE HEALTHCARE WORKERS.
These PPE are made of quality filament printed using our high quality 3D printers. For the shields we then add a plastic shield over the 3D printed headband to create this amazing protective equipment. With this design, sanitation is incredibly easy. Just remove the plastic shield, and wipe down the headband as well as you can wipe the face mask. Using this simplistic design allows for an easier, cleaner experience.
