Dear Parents,
The devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey has hit close to home for many of us with families and friends in Texas. The flooding and subsequent controlled release of water at dams will cause more flooding over the next few weeks. My own family has been impacted and Mr. Badillo and I will be going to help with the relief efforts this Friday. While the Red Cross and other organizations are doing what they can to get to those in need, there are many areas where people are more isolated. Local schools, churches, food banks and others are assisting there.
We will be working with them to help those who are desperate for help. We will be out in front of the school in the morning drop off and pick up lines and all day tomorrow and Thursday collecting donations in the office. Our current character trait is Conservation and September’s trait is Loyalty; what greater way for Santa Rosa Academy to show our character than to provide whatever assistance we can to those in need. We will be documenting everything so our students will know how much their help was appreciated.

Hurricane Harvey Donations Continue Through Friday.

Thank you for your tremendous generosity! We just received a phone call to help 6 families with infants on dialysis. All were all flown in by Black Hawk helicopters to Texas Children’s Hospital in the last two days. The hospital wants to help get these families into apartments or homes nearby so they can care for the children. If you have not already done so, can you please consider donating any of the following NEW items:
sheets for all size beds
pillows
blankets
kitchen items
set of plates
drinking cups
silverware
shower curtains
new towels
toiletries
We will continue to take donations through 3:00 PM tomorrow (Friday).
Thank you for your help!
